Seeped into the fabric of our family business you’ll find two core values: humility, and service.
A son of the Depression era, our founder, Don E. Frye – who passed away in November of 2012 – built our business from a relentless commitment to serving others.
Don spent nearly his entire career in the dry cleaning industry, and after migrating from Ohio to the Valley of the Sun, he opened Prestige’s doors in June of 1964.
With Don at the helm, the company evolved from a small shop at the Scottsdale waterfront to an award winning operation, employing over 60 people across 8 Scottsdale locations. Always at the cutting-edge, Prestige was the first in our market to adopt eco-friendly policies, including the use of a safer dry cleaning solution.
Throughout the years, Don, a longtime Chamber of Commerce member, was recognized by his peers in the business community for his many efforts to make Scottsdale a vibrant place to live, work and give back. Under his inspired leadership, Prestige supported organizations including Scottsdale Boys and Girls Clubs, Scottsdale Foundation for the Handicapped, Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce, YMCA and Kiwanis Club, among others.
Capping his career, The U.S. Small Business Administration elected Don E. Frye Arizona’s Small Business Person of the Year in 1980. He retired in 1981 and handed the reins to son Donn Frye. Donn has since carried on his father’s commitment to community service and strong corporate citizenship while forging his own path. Merging his father’s legacy with his own commitments to excellence, Donn continues to ensure that at Prestige, we will “Suit Scottsdale” for decades to come.
Over the years, Prestige has invested in improving our industry, and we’ve been recognized for our stellar work, customer service and community involvement. We’re grateful!
